The Drive-In Movie

Last night I

passed many blue glowing windows

 while I drove

to the field

of our local Junior High School

to watch an old fashioned Drive-In movie.

The feature film was called Eclipse.

It won’t be showing again until 2033.

I got the perfect car view.

The screen was enormous!

The sound box from the window whispered

the wind,

far away laughter of two little girls,

and a basket ball thumping in the dark while waiting for the climax.

The crowd was sparse–only four other cars.

One family let their daughters run and jump,

and dance in a field under the show.

They sat on a blanket and watched the movie.

I hope you took the time to go to the Drive-in near you…

Eclipse made me feel part of a universe that connects us all as one

as this magical moment was offered to everyone in the whole world…

for free!

Here is a shot of the black screen and the star of the show–

Our beautiful blood red moon covered in shadow.
