Shy turns crazy rebellious

I was heartsick when I drove up to our local Barnes and Nobles store to see it boarded up and closed for good! I was just there Christmas shopping two days before the holiday and renewed membership fees! They did not disclose they were closing the following week. This place was like a spa to me. I call it my soothe,  browsing through, not knowing what I would discover, enjoying the smell of new book bindings and printed magazines. My emotions got the best of me as I drove home and I turned from sad to angry. Can you imagine a world without book stores?? Yet another thing I love taken away! So I decided to be crazy rebellious!

This is what I did…

photo 2 I felt like a fugitive, my heart was beating as I quickly pulled the sign from my car. The pink heart taped to the window above was a thank you note because I hold fond memories  here…

I knew there were cameras somewhere taking pictures of me, or I would be accosted by the Strip Mall’s parking lot guard. It was 14 degrees out and even though I was wearing gloves I knew they would find out it was me. But I didn’t care!

I LOVE THE FEEL OF REAL BOOKS!

I LOVE THE MAGIC OF REAL BOOKSTORES!

And I wanted to tell the world!

A rebel!

I totally agree with you Jen! I could spend hours there!

  4. The only way to fight this is to share our love for the neighborhood bookstores we want to save. Be Brave….
