Give me some sugar!

“You’re an artist?”

“Yes.”

“What’s your medium?”

“Cookie-cutters!”

Too cute to eat…nah!

The Best Cookie Dough Recipe:

Good enough to eat without frosting but not as fun!

1 cup butter softened

3/4 cup sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix together butter and sugar until  fluffy. Add the egg and beat well and then add the vanilla extract.

In another bowl or plastic bag:

2 1/4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cream of tarter

Mix together and add to the wet mixture 1/3 at a time. Flatten the dough and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. When dough is firm take out of the fridge and roll out all sorts of shapes and sizes of cookies with your FUN cutters about 1/4 inch thick. You don’t have to use cutters, you can use a butter knife or circle shapes from your cups.  Let your kid help. Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 minutes

Sugar Cookies are my go-to when I need a lift!

The huge process is definitely part of the gift for the maker as well as the receiver!
